Weekend Competitions
Over 100 pipers and drummers to compete in contests
Held each January, the Midwest Highland Arts Fund contests attract an international field of amateur and professional competitors. From what appear to be the richest contests in the piping and drumming world, 101 competitors are scheduled to play for over USD$10,000 in cash and prizes. All contests are held Friday, January 14, 2005 at the Marriott - Country Club Plaza Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri.

The contests and concert are part of the fourth annual Winter Storm Weekend, and presented by Midwest Highland Arts Fund. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2001, MHAF promotes the Scottish Highland performing arts, primarily through workshops, concerts, and competitions. The Fund is a national leader in Highland Arts instruction.
